The Mountaineer's Route wasn't looking good so we changed our plans. We drove to Death Valley and dayhiked Wildrose Peak (2000' el gain/8.4 mi) and Telescope Peak (3,000' in 14 mi). Temps were 24-31 degrees

I can't believe it's been almost 12 years since I first hiked Telescope. I remember it was in the summer and it was hot, the complete opposite of last weekend. 3 out of the last 4 times I've hiked it have been in the extreme cold...temps in the teens and twenties. It was a fun weekend even though we had to improvise. :-)
