Carol - Congratulations on your feature! I understand your attachment to the Bears - I had one called Teddy "B" that traveled with me. I spent a great deal of time away from my children. Teddy and I were always out to sea. I would write my children about his adventures and all the places that we saw together. It was a great ice breaker when I would go to help out at children's homes. I even managed to put together a coloring book and a small edition of a book just for my children with all the stories of Teddy's travels. My children are grown now, but it is something very special that were able to share and made my being away from home somewhat easier for them to understand. Thank you for sharing your passion for the little guys. You have a great collection. I will have to consider such a collection and start another edition for the next generation, when they arrive. I love your bear photos. I take photos of my bears also but they are not quite as imaginative as yours. I also make bears and wondered if you are a 'bearmaker' as well as a collector. My main collection of bears are the Boyds, but I do have some others. I only have about 10 of the ones that I make. Since I have started making them I have given at least 40 as gifts. In many of them I add a music box. Also, I put a penny dated the year that the bear is made inside on of the ears. (They are all hand sewn.) Last winter I made my first mohair (they must be made on a machine). I am planning to get more involved in that type of 'bearmaking' when we go to Florida this winter.
