Hello Roger! It is always a feast to have either a new album or something added from you. As I do not know which ones were there and which ones are new, I did the only sensible think possible sit back and enjoy them all!!! Truly beautiful.. The impala, the leopard and the cheetahs are beautiful!It brings back happy memories when I spent 3 years in Tanzania and went as often as I could to the parks.... I never saw a leopard though.... Excellent photography, Roger... Fabulous pictures... Your pictures are so crisp an clear that one can almost smell the dusty earth and hear the far-off cry of the African Fish Eagle... Memories come flooding back!... Just a note, though, Roger... The picture you label as "11.Impala&q uot; is in fact a SPRINGBUCK (Antidorcas marsupialis) SIZE: Shoulder height 75 cm, mass (m) 41 kg, (f) 37 kg. Both of the sexes have horns. COLOUR: Cinnamon brown with white belly, the white separated from the brown by a broad, dark brown band along either flank. (Is the national emblem of South Africa - so we'd better get that one's ID right, eh?)... <smile> Love your photgraphs, Thank you!!! (You'll induce me to share some of the large collection of African Wildlife pictures I've taken over the years...) Tony B

What a stunning picture of a leopard!... Actually, Roger, a number of your photogrpahs need the title corrected... (in many cases species are incorrectly identified)... Photos numbered 12, 45, 23 are not Impala, they are Springbuck (Antidorcas marsupialis)... Photos 13 & 19 are indeed pictures of a member of the oryx family (but certainly NOT eland, which despite it's "latin name" Taurotragus oryx is not even a member of the oryx family) specifically these are pictures of Gemsbok (oryx gazella)... In photo 16 the bird with the zebra you call a "Serpertaire& quot; I assume is the French word for this bird... One of the (older) names in English for this bird I believe is also "Snake Bird" (for it's propensity to hunt snakes) (but Not to be confused with the Snake Eagles of Africa!)...It's more common name English is Scretary Bird (Sagittarius serpentarus)for the "grey alpaca morning jacket and pen quills behind its ears - like a victorian era male secretary... Photo 20 is of the Greater Kudu (Tragelaphus strepsiceros)... Now, at last, Photos 24 and 52 are indeed of IMPALA (Aepyceros melampus... Photos 26 & 27 are indeed members of the bustard family - Specifically I believe that you have photographed Back bellied Koran male and female (I need to check my field guide here) <grin>... Similarly in photo 34, I believe you have photographed a pair of Namaqua doves... Photos 28, 29 & 30 are great pictures of a Lilac breasted roller... Photo 33 is problematic ... I find African raptors a confusing and difficult group to identify ... I believe this to be a Lanner Falcon... And lastly the very interesting bird on the neck of the giraffe in photo 53 I believe to be a Red billed oxpecker... ... Great photos & very much appreciated!... TonyB
