    • Dear Barbara - again thank you. Imade my first table tops when I was 15 or 16 - then started again fifty years later. I bought a lot of dolls on rummage sales and built situations where I could use them. I'm glad you can laugh at some of the results. Th LIFE IMITATES ART you mention is a picture of my wife, taken in 1957 - I added the doll 45 years later..

EASTERN CARIBBEAN COALITION FOR ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS (ECCEA) Martinique, 16 September 2003 PRESS RELEASE Assassination of Jane Tipson: A defender of humans, animals and wildlife: A world region’s loss ! ECCEA, Martinique 16th September 2003 It is with grief and shock that we learnt of Jane Tipson’s murder early this morning, a woman whose integrity, extraordinary courage and dedication to the world’s wildlife, animals and the environment knew few limits if any in islands where such policies are not always popular. At one o’clock in the morning as she entered her property at Monchy in St. Lucia in the East Caribbean she was ambushed and shot. She died instantly. The act is one that will mark all of those that knew and loved her. It is imperative that every step is taken to understand the true reasons for Jane’s death and ensure that the culprit is lawfully brought to justice. We find it difficult to wrestle with the idea that this wonderful, conscientious, dedicated and in every way beautiful human being was taken away from us and the creatures and causes in whose interest she worked indefatigably. We will all miss her work and her beautiful nature and in her name we must make sure that this continues. We can though take comfort in the confidence that she has gone to her just rewards. Jane was from Cornwall, settling in St. Lucia some 25 years ago. In 1995 she co-founded the Eastern Caribbean Coaliton for Environmental Awareness and was responsible for the regional programme in St. Lucia. She also created the St.Lucia Whale and Dolphin Watching Association and promoted the development of a now flourishing whale watching industry in that country; she led anti-captivity campaigns. She founded and dedicated her time and entire income to the St. Lucia Animal Protection Society (SLAPS) alleviating the intense misery of hundreds of wild and domestic animals in a way few people have ever done.
