Wow, already found a POTD and a featured album. I am impressed to know I have such a famous WS friend. BTW, my wifey was wondering where you lived. I suspect NM, but not quite sure where. As for aborting the trip to Gila Cliffs, we were 2 hours away when we saw a sign that notified us it would close in one hour, so we stayed over and went the next day. As for Mogollon, my wifey was sure there had to be another road in, but the treacherous road was the only route marked on our map. If we make another trip, I'll contact you for directions for the other route. ;) It may be awhile, but we were planning on making a three day weekend type trip to White Sands when the flowers are in bloom.

how I enjoy these photos. I grew up in La Mesa during the 30s and 40s. You have brought all the childhood images back to me. The cotton fields, the alfalfa, the pecan trees and the cotton gin towns.

Your beautiful photos brought back many pleasnat memories for me. We lived in Albuquerque for three years way back in 1960-1963. My mother always missed the green of the corn belt but that first morning my Dad witnessed one of the beautiful sunrises over the Sandia Mountains made him fall in love with NM. Hi Char, I really enjoyed the shots of the Organs with the dab of Snow. I particularly liked Saddleback. I also liked Contrast. One small suggestion, try to limit the amount of brush in some of your shots. While plant life can add color and contrast to a Landscape shots, sometimes it's just noise and a distraction. You have several shots where you've minimized the brush and it really helps the mountains to stand out. You can always make brush the subject matter by shooting elements in macro. Or by creating strong DOF, in which...say the branches of a mesquite are in focus and the mountains are blurred. Just some thoughts, talk to you soon--Brent
