Hafa Adai Dave. Thanks so much for the beautiful images of Guam. Living in the soutwest is so much different than on the tropical island of Guam. We moved here about 6 years ago. On our return to Guam in '97 and '99, we became more appreciative of the beauty of island and it's people. Our hearts are always on Guam.

Why did you mar that beautiful picture of the church in Tumon with vertical writing going through the center of it? I think Webshots takes great care to see that no one's copyright is violated, so I don't think the "rights reserved" message is really necessary. If you ever post a copy of this picture without the writing on it, I would love to download it into my screen saver.

It's wonderful to finally find photos of the island. It's nice to know our island can be appreciate. A wonderful friend just past a way, and I would like to spread his last words and wish to my family and friends. The verse is in Chamorro and English. I am not sure if I spelled the Chamorro verse correctly. "Mante'ne y korason mu, yan talai'ka y custombre'mu, ya munga male'fa y taotaomona" HOLD UP YOUR HEART, CHANGE YOUR WAYS AND DON'T FORGET YOUR PEOPLE BEFORE YOU. These words bring back memories of our people and ways. May we all cherish them. God bless! Thank you!

I am still enjoying the beautiful pictures of Guam. I have many wonderful memories of that beautiful island. Lived there 1956-57 and attended GWHS and lived on Cliff Line. Would love to hear from someone that was there during that time. virgspeck@aol.com

Dave, Your photos of Guam are beautiful, I couldn't wait to send a link to my dad who was stationed there in the 50's. I know he will enjoy seeing how things have changed and not changed. My dad was always taking pictures and I remember many nights when he would get out the slides and as we watched them he would tell us about all the beauty and history of Guam, peppered with his air force antics, of course! Beautiful photos. Thanks. Brenda Thomas, Lakeview, Ohio snobird3@charter.net

My best congratulations on being featured. Beautiful album of Guam. Your photos are breathtaking. I would suggest, however, that it would be nicer if you were a bit more discreet about you name and signature. This was an advice I received from Mieke (http://community.webshots.com/user/gompie48) and my work is much better as from that moment. hi dave, your photos are beautiful. i was born and raised on guam and moved to the states in 1991. i sure miss the beautiful scenery of guam, and the sunshine and georgeous blue pacific ocean. the ocean here just isn't as beautifully blue as it is on guam. i have a question, is the photos entitled "sunset" ; taken in southern guam? is that cocos island in the background? i was trying to figure out where this photo was taken and i just can't place it. i have made it my desktop background. my e-mail address is tricia@olypen.com. sandy

I think you have some great pictures of Guam. I was stationed up at Andersen AFB in the 54th Strat Recon Weather Sq. from Feb. 1952 until Dec. 1953. I took quite a few 35mm color slides on the base and different parts of the island. Of course I had to depend on one my buddies who had a car to get around the southern part of the island. We climbed Mt. Lam Lam twice and took pictures of that part island. I have pictures of Tumon Beach which was controlled by the Navy and Tarague Beach was controlled by the Air Force. I am going to try and transfer my slides to a CD and maybe later to this website. E-Mail me at RMajeski@aol.com

I was lucky enough to be there from 1976 to 1981. Anyone who was on the island feels blessed to have visited. I was in the 7th grade when we left; what a great place to spend a childhood! The sunsets were truly inspiring, but the sunrise is exhilarating. Thank you so much for reminding me of the beauty. But, I am also reminded of how much I miss the place. You're doing a magnificent job. Thank you, again. tone.head@verizon,net

Hi Dave, I was stationed at Anderson AFB back in the 70's. You have a picture of Tarague Beach, I have to say that is the prettiest beach I have ever saw. We would spend our occasional day off there as much as possible. Wish I could get back to Guam, but with distance and cost, it seems prohibitive. Plus Tarague Beach is not accessible to civilians :-( Hope you submit more pictures of Guam!

Dave, Your pictures are truly amazing. I am happily living on Guam currently as this is our second time back to the island :). I am writing to ask your permission to use some of your photos to paint water colors of, I sell my notecards on Andersen Base & soon off base. My paintings are more graphic than realistic so they would look quite a bit different from your photos. Let me know, either way your photos are great and I will be sending your album out to friends here on base. PS. Do you plan to put your Guam images in a book? Thanks, Karen

Hi Dave, Your pictures are beautiful and you completely captured the real beauty of Guam. Your photo's brought back so many good memories for me. We were stationed at Anderson AFB forty years ago (1963-1965) I was only six but I still remember everything about Guam, it is such a beautiful place. My family spent most weekends at the beaches swimming and shell collecting. Seeing your photo's make me want to go back to Guam again. Thanks!! Karen (TwinMoon)

It's heartning to see so many members from the beautiful island of Guam respondiong to your album. I was there in '46-'47 when in the Navy and was able to return occasinaly from Majuro while stationed there. The Island has changed very much from my memory, but is still beautiful as ever.
