  • Hello Gladys! It's quite an adventure to visit with you this extraordinary place!!! We love the kangaroos!!! Wonderful exotic plants! Banksias are such special flowers, Hakea victoria such an amazing plant! Thanks for all your interesting comments, you did a great job! There is another new album, we'll be back later! Coming back home from Geneva, we can't keep up with looking at albums of our WS friends... Lots of hugs, Henri and Käthi

  • Hi Gladys, Would you believe that Gardening Australia had a feature on WA wildflowers today and I thought how lovely the Qualup Bells were and here they are again in your album! I think they are so beautifully formed. But I was bowled over by the hakea victoria. What a fantastic conformation and the colours are exquisite. What a photo! Congratulations on a charming album. BTW, like you mentioned, I have made up a rather scrappy album for our poodle Jasper. Mostly just pics drawn from various folders around the drive. He is hard to photograph, being so black. Heh heh. Thanks for sharing your visit to the old homestead. I liked the joey eating grass by the way. How convenient for him. Joyce

  • I'll have to come back in a day or two to look through this Gladys because every time I click on a photo it comes up with the Qualup Bells pic. Took me nearly 10 minutes to get as far as the Homestead (a great shot that by the way) I shall be very interested in these because we have passed through that district many times on the highway and once on the gravel road out of Hopetoun. As a matter of interest there always used to be a very tiny school at Fitzgerald and we took their photos on a couple of occasions. I doubt the school is still there now though. By the way, yes thanks I did get you note re the pink flower - it came whilst we were away. back later, Peter

  • Hello Gladys, at last Webshots is working as it should, and I can again enjoy looking at albums such as this. You've achieved a good balance here; history, flora, fauna and scenery. Your appreciation of everything you experienced comes through and adds a touch of the personal, as though we were there sharing it with you. Thanks for taking me to a place I'll probably never see for myself. Best wishes, Keith.

  • Hi Gladys, it wasn't easy to view this album. They invented some new bugs to make it difficult to view the photos. Now the 'previous' and 'next' link stay the same over the whole album. I didn't look at every picture, only at some of them. The Kangaroo pictures are great, especially the Mother with Joey ones. They are so cute! Those Qualup Bells are lovely. Pic#2 is a gorgeous capture. The windmill #09 and sundown #12 are great views. I stopped at the Pig Face Flower - that's a very common flower along the Israeli beach. A very strong plant that seems to have no need for water. Thanks for the gorgeous Eucalyptus tree!! :-) The banksias spike is new for me too. Very interesting! Thanks for all the explanations! Oh yes, I missed you a lot! You are always 'there' always not only write, you answer so very nicely. I see you got deep in the Blog business. Hopefully they will manage soon. I am just afraid, that all those different options we long for makes the site slower and slower. It takes a long time until changes get updated. Yesterday I had problems to post my comments. The Blog gets confusing too. There are by now so many different parts, that it's difficult to follow without reading it all again and soon it will be impossible to find a message out there. I hope you are well - and Clancy too! I know, soon there will some more albums in your site! :-) Keep uploading! - Galit

  • Hi Gladys. Welcome back mate. The photos of the homestead are probably my favorites but I do remember seeing a great shot of a windmill in here. There is a great cloud shot that I like, taken at about sundown. I would make a great foriegn tourist because I love kangaroos and the ones you got to smile are terrific, especially the "joey" ones. Thanks for sharing this part of your holiday and I'm looking forward to the rest. Catch you later. Hugs Al..

  • Hi Gladys, I'm honored to be the first to sign this guestbook. It's a very nice album full of wonderful and previously unseen (at least by me) flowers. I particularly like the Qualup Bells and Banksias praemorsa. Unlike most wild flowers, these make particularly good subjects for close-ups. The old farming machinery also adds a touch of history and nostalgia. You certainly have a lot to show for your trip. Welcome back and greetings from Florida, Paul.
