I am actually a friend of someone who is a memeber here. My email is lford6@woh.rr.com. What can I say? I have spent nearly 2 hours on this site and mostly in your albums. A tremendous collection that I will return to again and again. Thank you for the pictures of the American Indians. As a member of the Choctaw Tribe of Oklahoma, I can never learn enough of what is was like "then". I thank God that the truth is finally coming to light as the genocide of the Indians is something this country's government should TELL THE TRUTH about. Your photos do. I am trying to find pictures of the Choctaw Indians. Any suggestions? Thank you. lford6

Wonderful collection, some works I have not seen in some time. :) I just wanted to ##### a comment, the picture titles, "A Navajo Youth-Before And After", states "At left is Tom Torlino, a Navajo youth, before he was sent to a school for Indians run by whites. At right, after attending the school for only a few months, all traces of his Navajo heritage seem to have vanished.", however it fails to state why he is dressed the way he is. The forced indoctrination of the navajo people after the 1868 treaty with General Sherman is something a majority of people fail to learn or understand. Shortly thereafter, the US Government adopted a the theory of assimilitaion, or cultural genocide. His school, I beleive, was at the Carlisle Indian School, in Carlisle, PA, also school to U.S. Olympian Jim Thorpe. Its a good compare and contrast picture, but it does fail to show the assimilation of "American Indain" Culture. I love the entire collection you have, thanks for sharing. Lindis Y. Webb (North American Indian-Athabaskan)

there is a picture onyour site that is said to have been taken in the town of DeBeque, Co. im not sure but i think it is acually taken in Parachute, Co. which is close to DeBeque. around 15 miles east of there. the pictuer i have is from around the same time period, 1910 or so. my picture is from further up the hill in Battlement Mesa. so it is a slightly different angle, so taking that into account, i believe it is the same mountain or range. cant figure out how to send you the picture through webshots though. im not a sticklar about these kind of things anyhow.. keep up your great work....

Great photos I realy enjoyed them,I have never seen a pic of Calamity Jane before. The only thing is SittingBull, and Geronimo were not cheifs They were both medicine men,Spiritual Leaders,to whom the cheifs looked to for advice. A lot of people make that mistake,It's even in some history books. But still great pictures thank you for puting them on webshots. grearls@charter.net

Hello! I found your albums accidentally while searching webshots. Your Dodge City pic caught my eye because I have family in and around the Dodge City area by the name of Frazier.
