    • I am curious about the circumstances that resulted in the nose ski installation on the Canso. Why was the aircraft on the ice so late in the spring? And what aircraft was the nose ski from? Al Nelson WCAM Winnipeg

    • Mike: Surely you mean CF-GKE, which was USAAF 44-26761. This aircraft ended up as N6190C,abandoned in Paraguay, where Bob Diemert found it, "dismantled" it and shipped it back to the U. S. It is now N2897S with the Kermit Weeks collection. Jerry Vernon
