Thank you so much for sharing these lovely pictures on Webshots. I enjoyed looking through them. You did a great job capturing these images! Henk, Canada.

Hi Rod: Another album of yours I thoroughly enjoyed viewing. No wonder it got featured. Is it too late even for a belated congrats? Again, superb material, and thanks for your visit to my Wind Farm album. You mentioned that people in Cornwall say they're too noisy? I was standing right by one of the later turbines in the album, and it wasn't a problem. Yes a sound is made whenever a blade goes by, but don't consider it noisy. Anyway, I hope you had a great week and hope your weekend is pleasant. Reagrds from Ron.

Hi Rod! I really enjoyed the tour of Torbay! So many good memories was brought back to me through your pictures from my time in Torquay! There was the cricketplayers in Cockington (I remember so well), Painton..... Thank you for sharing! You are an excellent photographer as well!

Hi Rod - it was really wonderful going through this album again. Apologies for delay in contact - pc still playing up so I've really missed a load on Webshots but can't wait to return with a vengeance... LOL! Hope you're keeping well. Look forward to more new input from you soon. Best wishes, Sue

Hi,Rod: Your photos of Torbay,Polperro,Looe and Cockington brought back great memories of when my wife and I visited there in 2000. Was the half blind seal still in the harbour in Polperro? My wife's family grew up in Cornwall( Gunnislake) so we feel an attachment to Cornwall. Best wishes from Niagara Falls, Canada.

Great album, Rod, and it's a no-brainer to feature this one. Did you add some pictures to this one since the feature? You do a superb job documenting the daily life as well as the history of Great Britain. Thanks so much for your caring approach. Fred in East Tennessee USA

Hello again Rod and I've very much enjoyed yet another run through this wonderful album of yours. I never tire of it. It was great that you took the time and trouble to not only look through the photos in my latest winter album but also to write such kind messages and guest book entry. You know by now just how much I appreciate your comments, I'm sure. I'm having a ball with the R-1, which has re-kindled my love of photography! All best wishes from a rather wet Western Australia (at last) Peter

Hello Rod, Thanks for your message - you are too kind! Grasmere isn't flooded with tourists yet and it is so peaceful there after work - we have the whole place to ourselves, hence all the photographs! I keep coming back to this album of yours and admiring the pictures, so much so that my husband has promised a trip down south later this year! Your pictures are wonderful, thank you for them! Best wishes for a lovely weekend, Mandy (UK)

Hi Rod! Another great album! Perfect shots, good compositions, incredible colours! Congratulations! Thanks a lot for your warm words about my pictures. You're so kind! Sorry for the delay but I was away. I'm waiting your new albums. By the way I posted my last album - Discover Bulgaria - Bojentzi. I'll be very happy if you visit it. Best regards - Ljubomira (from Bulgaria).

Hi Rod, Interesting album in Torbay, but thought I'd seen it before, tall ships and the like...anyway, the picture of the masts of the Golden Hind nailed it. The Golden Hind is now secure in this port this week and I still wouldn't want to make it across any of the oceans, as small as it is!! But, I also wanted to thank you for visiting my Featured album and leaving such nice comments within my guest book entries. A surprise to me in the morning hours while opening my email, finding a long list of folks from all over the place. Best regards and thanks again. Greetings from the Oregon Coast. Ron

Hello Rod and I was so thrilled to get your message this morning about my very first album of digital photos. I feel I know you very well because Peter is always calling me over to look at your wonderful photos of our lovely Devon and Cornwall - in fact he has arranged it somehow so that your photo of Teignmouth is the first thing I see every time I switch on my laptop. The photo is the one you sent us last year looking across the pier and along the coast to Dawlish - in sunshine!! Thank you so much for your lovely words on my humble first attempt and you men - my husband had very conveniently neglected to tell me he had sent my album out to his friends so imagine the shock I had when I switched on this morning and found all these wonderful messages! I think he is trying to convince me I should take more photos. When we were working I was taking up to a thousand pictures a day but in the ten years since we retired I have hardly touched a camera - now I think the bug might have bitten me again. Thanks once more abd I am just SO pleased to have heard from you. Betty

Hello Rod, Thanks for your support - problem is that there are so many tourists around a the moment, it's hard to find a spot to stand still on the pavements! Anyway, it gives me something to think about - night time shots may be the solution!! You've been busy in Torbay again... I really enjoy your harbour pictures. As I have said before (it bears repetition!) there is so much to look at in each of your pictures - so interesting. Take care and have a lovely Sunday. Mandy (UK)

Hi Rod; thank you for your comments in my featured "Birds" album; it's hard to *not* post the new ones of parents feeding babies! ... I love your new additions to this album, especially the ones of the harbo[u]rs. "Cornish Chough" is a treasure, both the boat and your photo! The colo[u]rful fishermen's homes over Brixham are wonderful too - what a pretty place for a photographer. If this is close to your home you are very fortunate! ... Warm Florida wishes, Judy aka L@dybug

Hi again Rod, I wanted to thank you for visiting my Wales album and leaving such lovely remarks. It always gives me great pleasure to know other people enjoy viewing my photos. You would love it there Rod. With your talent for photography you would come back with a bundle of outstanding pics. I tried viewing this album - you have so many I've yet to see - but my laptop is getting temperamental in its old age and it was taking ages to load the pics. I think it's time for a new one. Having just spent several hours loading the rest of my Welsh ones on I think my patience is at an end. I will deffinitely be back to see this and more. I cant wait to see your Cornwall ones. I'm dying to get down there myself. I have a week in Falmouth in September but if I can get a short break there first that would make my day. Thanks once again Rod. Take care now. Chesca xx

I also appreciate your comments in my test album for my new "Toy"! Hope it at least matches the IQ of the Rebel I had before...it certainly is Much Faster!!! Also getting a high quality tripod and ballhead to help me get the sharpest images possible, I'm not a very good hand-holder!! Looking forward to much more of your wonderful Imaging!! Hello Rod, Thank you for visiting within my albums on my homesite, I thank you for your nice comments. Torbay, aside from a fishing town seems also like a nice place to visit. The white painted houses on the hill against a blue sky really makes your picture stand right out. We find the thatched roofs of the city facinating and I suppose the roof is so thick, there isn't a leaking problem? Does the roof ever rot? How often is a replacement needed?. Curious about things in other countries. Thanks again for visiting my site. Best regards and greetings from a dry day on the Oregon Coast. Ron

<font color="navy"> Rod, these are lovely new additions! The thatched roof inn is lovely, but #59 is BEAUTIFUL! Thanks for trying to view that albuma again Rod. I am starting to get rather cranky with Webshots - they won't give me a firm answer to my question about whether I should reload the photos and Support don't even bother to reply at all. Re stats it is now 10 days since I had any movement whatsoever which, of course, doesn't do much for the Views per Day. Oh well, maybe in a few weeks time we'll be laughing about all this trouble!Cheers now, Peter

Hi Rod. Thanks for trying to look at Yet Another Local Beach. I see it is now reduced to just ONE photo! And once again we go a day without any recorded stats - and to think I said everything was running smoothly now! Should have kept quiet! Oh well, just have to remain positive and hope for the best! Hope all is well down in sunny Devon and that you are escaping the winter woes of flu etc. Best wishes, Peter

Hi Rod and my apologies for taking so long to reply to your kind words in my Goodbye 2005 guest book. Like most under-the-thumb husbands I've been having a rather hectic few days - mundane jobs like cleaning windows, weeding the garden, cutting the grass, extra shopping trips etc. etc. Roll on the 26th!! I have found time to put one of your photos fairly and squarely at the top of my Favourite Photos and you won't even have to look to guess which one that is, I'll bet! We greatly appreciate your best wishes for the Christmas/New Year season and sincerely hope that you and Chris have a wonderful time with good, pleasant company. We also hope that 2006 brings you good health and happiness and dare we hope for an improvement in your ongoing back problem. I have chronic disc degeneration, so I've just been told but in my case it goes with advancing years! At least I'll keep whacking that little white ball around the fairways (and the rough) for a while yet! Kind regards to you both, Peter

Hi Rod, for the last months I am experiencing unexpected problems with my comments left in friends guestbooks. While so many times I left my comments under your beautiful albums then my comments never appeared...I do not know why? I ask webshots for an explanation as to why the majority of my comments I left in your guest books as well as the guest books of my webshots friends never appeared. With great concern I am leaving this comment. For the last months since my posting of albums under the sites komierowski1300, komierowski1400 and now komierowski1800 my comments about your wonderful photography and photographic observations never showed up. I hope that you realize and understand that it was not my intention to cut off all the ties with my webshots Friends. For the coming Season, please accept my best wishes, and Merry Christmas or Happy Hanukah. Kind and friendly regards, Rafal of Calgary.

Dear Rod,you have grafted new photos on an older album and the mixture does not yet work well, not because of you, but because of Webshots! Well, it took time to have the slideshow and an attempt of visualizing the shots separately. Some beautiful ones that I like:1/3/7/25/29/30/32/34 /40/45/50/54/58. As you have so many goodies, you can do without 2 of them which are not up to parr (the present #12 Hollicombe Beach and #18 Babbacombe, both are blurred). Congratulations for the feature! Hi Rod, Always a good sign of great photography when your name is at the top of the chart and you've added more to your treasure here. The Abbey's infrastructure in the photo of the 'vaulted ceiling' is interesting brickwork and you captured the tall ships, the water sure makes them stand out, good shot here. Not used to ever seeing a cruise ship, don't know whether that's a good thing or not around here, but a likable subject to shoot and they're still huge; interesting photo of the giraffe in a closeup, plus a family of swan as your ending photo...couldn't help but download all of this. Sure do appreciate your tour of Devon, your other albums too make a whoppingly good story. Best regards and wishing you and yours a Happy Thanksgiving. Ron/Oregon Coast

Dear Rod, I always enjoy looking through this album of yours I think my favourite addition is "On Golden Pond" beautiful colour on the water and the look on that Giraffes face is wonderful too.Thank you so much for your GB entry in my latest album you really are too kind. I have you to thank for visiting a lot of the places. We would never have visited Carrbridge if I hadn't seen your picture of the bridge and when I look at yours again I notice that the level of the water was a lot higher in May when you were there plus you had that blue sky again which I'm sure follows you around. Culloden was an amazing place and the spectacular clouds all around us only added to the atmosphere. I was amazed to read that a road once went through the battlefield! By the time we reached Newtonmore it was quite late in the day already but I would have liked to have stopped for a look around, plus the Cairngorms were calling me to go have a closer look too. Thanks again now Jill

Hi Rod, another superb album. We have visited a lot of these places too, but this time you have included quite a few that we have yet to see. It's years since we visited Torquay, we always seem to head west when staying in the Dartmouth area. I will have to take notes for the next time we are down there. I love the exotic bird & the pony photos at the end, quite a surprise! Best Wishes,Angela.

Hi Rod...thank you for your additions to my GBs; you are very generous with your comments...I love the new additions to this album with all its many harbo[u]rs...The flamingoes - I have never seen pale pink ones; they are such a gentle colo[u]r. I was very interested to find a picture of my cottage on this site. Just to let you all know, after the devastating fire at my home in April 2004 it is now being restored. Many of the original timbers have been saved and although the roof line will be slightly different to prevent any more arson attacks, the cottage will look very similar when restored. best wishes to all who have been interested in this picture, Gerri

Did you ever think you would see the day when photos from a digital camera would be so much better than those from a film camera? I certainly didn't but now I am like you and hardly touch my old film camera at all. This album of yours is a clear example of just how good digital really is nowadays - and the amazing thing is that digital is still comparatively early in it's development. I wonder what our pictures will be like after, say, another 10 years of technological development? Interesting thought! We are off next Monday for a week of "bush bashing" when we hope to be able to capture some of the atmosphere of the "Real" Australia that is away from the coast. Should be an interesting experience! Catch you again in about 10 days. All the best Peter

Dear Rod, Now I have more time to linger over you pictures I have returned and they really are fantastic. What a huge loss Kirkham cottage must be. We have only ever visited North Devon in the past but I see there are planty of pituresque places to find near Torbay if I ever came down that way again. Once again thank you so much for your GB entries I'm glad you liked the panorama in Tobermory it did cry out for it and I've managed a few more panoramas in my travels too, still to come. Iona is just a perfect island and so much to see and photograph. It's such a shame the sun didn't really shine for us because I felt my piccies were just a bit flat but you can't choose the weather when you are away you just have to make the most of what the Scottish weather can throw at you LOL I'm sure I don't need to tell you that. I do wonder though if you ever get cloudy skies wherever you go you always have a blue sky I think I will have to follow you around one day ;O) Take care now Jill.

said wmcaroline2003
Hi Rod. As you know I have been following this album for quite some time so it is with great interest that I see how you have updated it. In Photo #1 (Brixham) I would be very interested to know how you managed to get your verticals absolutely perfect across the entire width of the photo. No leaning in at all. Very well done. Kirkham Cottage I remember well and was very saddened to hear it had been burnt down. All the Stoke Gabriel shots are brilliant, as are the Cockington ones. I once played cricket on that very ground!! You are so very fortunate in having such lovely old places to photograph - our state wasn't settled until 1828 and nearly every building from that era has long since been pulled down so we have very little heritage left for our cameras to capture. Sighs of envy and best wishes, Peter
said georgieboy98
Dear Rod, this certainly is an award winner Not too much time to look right now as its past the witching hour but I just wanted to drop by and thank you for you very kind GB entry it means a lot to me from someone such as yourself. Hello Rod, All the old holiday haunts here, It is marvellous what some sunshine and a good bloke behind the camera can do. Brixham is so photo genic but you still have to make it interesting, and tou have certainly managed to do that, Great album. Thanks for the gb and very kind words. Did you know that there are over 8000 different kinds of Roses. Some of those in my album are donkeys of years old. the weather has been better this last couple of days, so the old magic digi has been working overtime. Itd Good to talk and i'll see you later Ken

I don't know if I ever told you but from our lounge window in Teignmouth we could see right across to Thatcher Rock. I meant to mention it last time I was in this album but must have got sidetracked (something that seems to happen a lot nowadays!) Now, I COULD be biased, but I firmly believe that there can't be many better albums than this one in all of Webshots. I frequently come in for a look, sometimes it may only be to see one photo as a memory jogger and other times I go right through them all for the umpteenth time! While I'm here I want to say how much I appreciated your comments in my National Parks - John Forrest album. After 3 weeks of almost continuous rain the rivers and creeks are a joy to photograph. Best wishes my friend, Peter

I have just spent a relaxing few minutes looking at a slide show of this album, al lot of excellent images here, it is a lovely part of the country and through your photographs we can enjoy the scenery. Weather still terrible up here, yesterday the few at Linlithgow were all we got, we were heading to the west very early and got as far as Stirling and about turned and headed to Edinburgh, after the sunrise there was nothing so we came home, today was so dull we did not bother, so fingers crossed that some time in the next 2 weeks the weather will improve. Our best wishes to you and your family, have a lovely Xmas and a Happy New Year. PS didn't think my Linlithgow ones were good enough for the other site! Louise

Rod, Excellent work! How can I pick just one? Artistically, I like Swansong,...but the countryside and harbours, are wonderful. My wife and I are planning a trip to Scotland and England within the next two summers. Is there a best two weeks? Daryl from Texas

Rod, "Torbay Treasures" album is full of the most brilliant selection of pics, you really get a feel of the place. The quaint little villages with the thatched cottages reminds me of the Cotswolds so much. Very well put together Rod, Excellent photography. Thanks for your very kind comments in my guestbook.
