    • We just got our tickets to the Cook Islands for our honeymoon next October - 3 weeks!!!! Any help in email or web links to accomodations would be most appreciated. We are looking for a couple of pampered days, then hitting small isolated places. Thanks for the photos they really made our decision easy to make. Thanks too for any help on the accomodations. • Dilesa100 - Well, not sure how old your kids are (or how many you are talking about), but I would guess you'd probably want the possiblity of some other kids around for them to interact with. With that in mind I'd recommend the Muri Beach area of Rarotonga. More for the kids to do, very safe water conditions, and the possibility of other kids nearby. Feel free to write me directly with more specific questions, but do it soon since I'm about to leave on vacation for 2 1/2 weeks. E-mail address is: LordBalfor@attbi.com (this will change in late June).

    • Peaceworks - thanks for the nice remarks. No, I've not been to Vancouver for the fireworks display, but I'll be there again on Sunday the 22nd of June when my wife and I arrive in the morning on board "the Canadian" train from Toronto (returning from a trip to New England, Quebec City and Niagara Falls). We'll only have the day there as we board another train to come back home to Seattle that evening - looking forward to a day in my favorite city though. Not sure what we'll do there (I figure I will leave that up to my wife), but I know there's no shortage of things to do/see in Vancouver. Likely to hit Gastown/Chinatown I suppose. If you'd like to get together for breakfast somewhere feel free to drop me a line (fairly soon) at LordBalfor@attbi.com.

    • Greetings again from Vancouver (Richmond, actually), BC Canada. I forgot to mention in my entry in another of your guest books that I have downloaded dozens of your photos to my webshots screensaver and so will be viewing them often. One of my favourite things to do is sit and watch my webshots screensaver. I have a lot of extraordinary photos in my collections - mostly downloaded from webshots but also from other websites. You are an excellent photographer. I would love to meet you sometime when you visit Vancouver again. I read your write-up on e-pinions. I am a member there as well. Have you ever been here for the fireworks competition in July? I think it's July, maybe August. We have competitors from all over the world. It's a must see - I know you would love it! Takes place in English Bay with the crowds covering the waterfront from Burrard Bridge to Stanley Park and Vanier Park to Spanish Banks. The kits viewpoints are not as good because you don't get the music that accompanies the fireworks and is an integral part of the display unless you listen to it on a local radio station. But the beaches are always overflowing nonetheless. Happy travelling!

    • Dedestocks: The Cook Islands (that's both the name of the group of Islands and the country that's made up of them) is in the southern hemisphere due south of Hawaii but on the other side of the equator. Rarotonga is thus a "mirror&quot ; image of Maui in regards to latitude and general climate (their "summer&quot ; occurs during Hawaii's "winter&quot ;). The Cooks Islands are very small. Rarotonga is the largest of the Cooks chain, and even so is less than 6 miles across. Hope that helps.

    • Hi Ken, my pen name on LP is Pidey. Just wanted to say how much we enjoy reading and re-reading your e-pinions and pouring over your photo's. We will be there in just over one months time!!! we are staying at sokala villas on raro, and the pearl beach resort on aitutaki....love the "dragon fly" - we will definitely be hiring one of those - how much did it cost to hire for a day? also, my fiance is a keen sailor (his dad has a couple of 50ft yachts which they sail each week), how hard do you think it will be to get ourselves invited out on a sailing boat from the Rarotongan sailing club? if you get the time, my email address is julia@senet.com.au thankyou again for sharing your photo's and stories and experience to us all. warm regards, Jules & Heath.

    • Beautiful, beautiful albums. Took several days to see all of them but enjoyed seeing your photos more than i can say. Reminded me of my visits after WW2 to Majuro and several other Marshall islands, Guam, Tarawa, Saipan and others. Hawaii has always been a favorite, especially Kaui, Maui and Oahu. They have all changed so very much since I was there. Thank you for sharing your trips, I'll revisit them from time to time! ... Ray

    • Dear Lordbalfor, Your pictures of the Cook Islands are a dream come true. I saw your albums in 2000 and after reading your epinions I bought a Cannon Elph for our trip last February to the Tulum area of Mexico, which by the way is also a beautiful place. I have you as one of my favourites and always check your epinions as well. I have been meaning to write something about our trip to Mexico. How lucky you are to travel every year. I'm surprised you are not living there by now and running a B&B. That is our dream to do around the Tulum area. Anyway keep travelling and I will keep reading!
