Another fascinating album you have here, showing us more 'old door knockers'. I was especially drawn to the 'glockenspiel' photo #30. I remember buying an identical one in Switzerland, many years ago. I wonder what happened to it? Have a wonderful holiday et a bientot bien sure. Jayne/West Midlands, UK :) xx

  • Dear Henri and Kaethi, I have really enjoyed looking through another of your albums featuring door knockers I find them all fascinating as you clearly do too Still not sure about the hands ones though maybe you think of them as welcoming you rather than a hand that looks kinda scary.I wonder what you own door knocker is like :o) I love to read your wonderful GB entries they always make me smile and thank you so much for all the information about Ussat I always like to learn about an area and through webshots we are able to do just that. I hope the redevelopement of Ussat is succesful it looks a beautiful place. Take care now my friends Jill

  • Hi Kaethi & Henri: I am so glad you stopped by this morning to visit my Napa Valley album and sign the guestbook. I may never have discovered this wonderful album of yours on door knockers. This is absolutely outstanding! I love albums like this. I am considering an album of doors in my local area and your work inspires me to get with it! All your albums are beautiful but this one is special! Thanks for sharing...! Ken - Maryland/USA

  • Hallo, liebe Kaethi! Es heisst "Picture It!

  • Hello Kaethi and Heinz, I love this album! You truly have very brilliant idea of taking shots of all these beautiful knockers, which we all touches everyday, but we all simply overlooked the attractiveness. I'm imagining if I can have an album like this ..... Thank you dear friend for your nice visit to my orchid show. I truly agree with you ... orchids in harmony, peace ... Big Hugs, Big Smiles from CS :-)

  • Hello Henri and Kaethi, Very intresting to see this wonderful variety of old door knockers in Pyrenean villages. I hope they don't invent the doorbell over there. If I should buy one it would probably be a lion head. Anyway, your album was a joy to visit! Greetings, Tjebbe

Jesus

  • Hi Kaethi and Heinz...I love the idea of a door knocker album. There are so many unique ones in Europe I think. Here it is rare to find them. I like the lion too, and the elaborate one, artistic one and all of them. The ones with hands are a little frightening to me though. I will come back again and look some more soon. Nice album. hugs and much love, Barbara

  • Hi Henri and Kaethi, These knockers are not only ornate, they are artistic too! My favorite is the one called, Realistic Hand. So graceful looking! I have a brass one but never did get it hung. Thank you for sharing these with us! Vicky

  • Hi Henri and Kaethi What a unique album. Door Knockers. Who would think that it would be so interesting! My favorites are of the hands, rings, bracelets, cuffs and all. I also like the ones at the end with the duck and cow. I wouldn't be able to reach the ones up high. I'm too short! Love you Sharon

  • Hi Kaethi and Henri! Very interesting to see the variety of these ornate door knockers. I seem to like the simple ones the best; some of the ones in the shape of hands seem a little scary to me (and I'm not being critical of your photography because you did a great job, but they just wouldn't be my choice of a door knocker, if you know what I mean). I know it's just me; but they almost look like a real hand hanging outside the door! :-)) The one hung high up on the door is a real smart idea. Thanks for sharing the life style of the villages in the Pyrenees. Lots of hugs and love, Sharon
