  • My son was recently given a Shasta Camper,(approximately '68 model) and is now in the process of fixing it up. His problem at the present is the refrigator. He is guessing that this is a cooler and not an actual working refrigator as it has strofoam in the back and no electrical wiring. Is this the case? This is a new project for him and he is excited about getting it ready for the campgrounds. Any help you can give us is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Ena

  • We are just about to buy a 1969 Shasta almost exactly like yours. Although, it has the bench seating in it already. It has pretty bad water damage on the back wall. We are pretty bewildered about repairing the leaks. One person told us to just tar the whole roof -- that will supposedly solve the problem? The paneling is out of the back wall, we will have to replace it. Also, we are pretty amazed at all the wiring that the owner has running through it -- wires every were. It will need to be all rewired for not only 110, but for 12 volt. We don't think that we can do this ourselves. Expecting an expense there. Any suggestions? Did you add a 12 volt water pump? The stove is a mess -- will have to replace it, probably do like you did and add a cook top. Any input that you can give regarding our remodel of the little camper is greatly appreciated. We feel we cannot pass it up -- the price is so low. I also need to know what size tire it takes? There are no numbers on the sides of the tires that are on it. Can you tell me? Thanks for any information you can share. matthews777@aol.com

  • Do you have a picture of the finished project.? We were just given a 1966 Shasta travel trailer (almost like yours), and were wondering if you know where we can find parts and accessories for it? lou2162003@yahoo.com
