Album Description:
The Iris is one of my favorite flowers; so colorful, very delicate and a sure sign that Spring has sprung. Words really can't describe its beauty, but artists can use their palettes of color to paint them. Photos were taken at the Missouri Botanical Gar

As for usual you have the colors! Great photos and wonderful composition. You always find some very interesting varieties of flowers. I also liked your collage for the photo of the month album. I had a May trip to Boston and a June trip to England and continue to take my dog for walks in the Omaha area. I am still pleased about your tip for the Indiana covered bridges. Visited three of them in 2005. Thanks for sharing your perspectives.

What beautiful iris pictures! I could be wrong but I think on the subject of irises your photographic style and mine bear some similarities. See what you think at my most recent iris album. I have at least four albums of iris pictures, one for each year I've had blooms. http://home-and-garden.webshots.com/album/558654109HNFzLT

Hi Sharon and Bob; This is a wonderful album and as always it was a pleasure to visit. My daughter and I will be going to Schreiner's Iris Gardens in Salem, Oregon the day after my birthday this year. You have some different varieties than I have been able to find, but then your photographs are so superior to what one sees in the catalogues or on line. This was a pleasure to stop by this morning. Best Wishes and Hugs, Marjie

Sharon, thank you very much for the compliments and greetings on my POTD. That was a big surprise for me to see this picture featured. I have other favorites in that album but I should not complain... I find it amusing that I shared 3 insects this week in the 3 Photos a Week album so they made this weekend of mine full of insects... I will visit the photos that you shared this weekend after I finish replying to all comments. Have a wonderful weekend! Yair.

The images of Irises I see here, remember me about the intelligence of our Creator and His love for each of us, to make happy our hearts and open the minds of sensible peoples to His LOVE for each of us! Let's remember, all the time His love for each of us and the manner He wants that everybody should think to His desire to be known by His Holy Name (YHWH or JHVH), by all the sensible persons to His request! The same Love it is shown to us by this talented photographer who is here the "symbol" photoop23!Many greetings and congratulations for the above love of nature and of his Creator!Ovidiu.

A beautiful album. I miss my Iris and a lot of other things I had in Georgia. That's the problem about moving. You lose all of your established plantings. Some were very expensive and now would be hard to replace a lot of those plants. But with my daughter Gina's help I have managed to get a few back, only a few out of hundreds.

Well Sharon, I almost never comment. But I have to comment on this album! I'm an artist looking for flowers to paint. Lately I wanted some pictures that would have a lot of flowers to do a full sheet with. I may have found it! Wow, and thanks so much for taking these in the SUN!!!!! In a watercolor painting, no sun, no fun! Cecilia

It is called "Flower Faces" It is full of our mutual friends photos. I was a bit afraid to ask you if I could use a few photos of yours not knowing how you feel about albums like this. Anyway it was a lot of fun in the making and somewhat intertaining to many members. surprising it has become quite popular too. Hope you come visit soon, miss your comments in my guestbooks. Hi Sharon, Thanks for checking out Lily's album. She is 25 months now and I don't get to see her or my other granddaughter nearly enough. Bet you are excited to have a new baby this summer. Lily's parents are going to have another baby in August and it is a boy. Now I will have two granddaughters and one grandson. I got a new camera and decided on a Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT. It definitely has more possibilities at 8 pixels than my three pixel had. Anyway I love your album and can't wait for the iris to bloom. IRIS are one of my favorite flowers. God Bless, Jane

Hi Sharon, What an incredible pallette of color in these beautiful irises! Now that I'm living in "cold country" (today was the first time that I can ever remember being in below zero weather!) I'm going to try to grow some irises myself! I bought a few bulbs last week & now I just need to see if the ground softens up enough to plant them!!! I just wanted to drop in and say Hi to one of my favorite Webshots friends! It's great to feel "connected" especially when so much is brand new! Have a great week. Lots of warm hugs, Lynn

Hi Sharon, I love Bearded Irises, but have never had very much luck in finding or growing them. They probably have the greatest variety and intensity of color of any kind of flower. This is without a doubt the definitive album on beautiful Bearded Irises and I cannot fathom why it has not been featured (along with your many others). You obviously don't limit your considerable talents to just this id since you display equally skillful photography under your other pseudonyms. Don't ever stop! Greetings from Florida, Paul. P.S. Thanks for your very kind words a couple of days ago on my Zion album, and I never forget that you were the first to sign any of my guestbooks. P.P.S. By the way, the bus drivers and guides at Zion still talk about those floods. When we went this year the Virgin River was not flooded, but it was running at 15 to 20 time normal flow and the rangers closed the river (including “The Narrows”) to all hikers and kayakers. It broke my heart. I wanted some pictures of The Narrows.

BEAUTIFUL!!! Sharon, I think you did a wonderful job of capturing the beauty of these Irises. We were there before all these were in bloom, but now I feel we didn't miss it. I will be downloading many of these beauties. Sharon, you mentioned that if you had known we would be visiting MBG, you and your husband could have met us, we would have really loved that! I wish we had known you better when we went. If we go again, we will let you know so we can meet. We met two other Webshot friends on that trip and loved the time we spent with them. Also, if you ever come here, (for the balloon fiesta, or anything else) let us know, we don't want to miss the chance of getting acquainted. I want to thank you for visiting our featured album, it was a real pleasure to hear from such a professional photographer. Hope you are enjoying your summer, if it is like here, it is really HOT, lol. Warm Wishes, Candy

Iris are my favorite flowers, I have about 50 different colors, but there are many colors that I don't have among your pictures. Thanks so much for sharing your pictures of this beautiful place. I live far away from Missouri, so I have no chance to visit the Iris Gardens at the Botanical Gardens there, but your pictures make me feel I have wandered through the gardens. Lois

Dear Sharon, MAGNIFICENT!!!I have already downloaded 14 of your shots and look forward to see them rolling on my screen. What a world of beauty!!! This missouri Botanical Garden seems to be full of magic places! YOU did a fantastic job with your camera catching this most decorative of irises: the bearded iris, queen of the iris world. The colours are so amazing!!! My sincere compliments!!! Please, come see my Rubensian Roses album, though the blooms are not mine. But they grow in our neighbourhood and seem to be at their best this year. You gave me great pleasure with this album and I hardly can wait to go visit the gardens we have in Japan, famous for their irises. Friendly greetings from Gabriela

Hi Sharon! I'm sorry if I have missed writing to you!!! I'm definitely NOT upset about anything! I had surgery in Nov. & from there, both of my married children have moved back home because their marraiges were in crisis. My "photo Fridays" are my escape, but I've been bad about staying in touch with just about everyone...family, friends and the Webshots family. We've been pretty focused on helping our kids through life. But, I have tried to break out once in a while & respond to notes. I'm so sorry I missed yours! The feature was a real pick-me-up yesterday, but I still have a lot of people to respond to. I'm glad your message came in today so that it stood out from the rest!!! Your album here is GORGEOUS! Wish I could visit there with you! Thanks so much for your encouragement & for caring that I stay in touch! You're great!! Be blessed, Lynn

Hi Sharon and Bob..Do I want to seee Irises???Do I want to see the sun during the day and stars at night! I love seeing these Irises at the Botanical gardens. This week I've had two trips through the gardens. I am so lucky. I love all the colours of the irises. I love the closeups and the shots of fields of them, it seems. The one lone purple iris is a beautiful shot. I love the delicate colours of the soft yellows and lilac with white, but the deep purple ones are just as beautiful and everything in between. The yellow and fushia coloured ones are great. I can see that someone let a yellow one and a fushia one a little too close one night and they had lots and lots of babies! :-) How wonderful to see an artist painting them. I love the closeup of the peach and lilac ones. I cannot believe all the colours. Who would put peach and fushia together? No one except nature and it works perfectly. Oh what beauty. Between you and Candy and Sharon with her Spring album, you have made my day and evening! Perhaps the fushia is really a violet red. Not sure but it is certainly beautiful. Ok, was it Sharon or Bob that lied on the ground to get that gorgeous shot! I love the photo of the peach ones with the blue violet ones in the background. Oh, those deep burnt orange ones are sensational. I loved every minute of the tour. Thank you guys. hugs and much love, Barbara
