I truly loved this album! Venice is a place that I would love to see in person but your photos made me feel as if I was actually there. Also, it answered some questions for me. They really do have trees there. It is the first time that I had viewed photos of Venice where trees wer present. Great Album!

Hello Ruggero! Although belated, let me add my two pennies worth! Your album is about colour and perspective. It is colour photography at its best. There is something so captivating about saturated colours. Often in other pictures, the blues are not blue enough, the reds never red enough and so on. Your pictures are an exeption. They are epitome of colour photography. Often, when I get colour, I do not get a subject. When the subject matter is at hand, then the sky is all grey!! You have enormous skill and patience and that is why your photography ranks among the very best in webshots. I am enthralled by your album. Dear Ruggero,your peaceful vacation days are ower -mine too :-{ - unfortunately the rutine of life goes on, right? The feature of your wonderful album did not surprise me at all, only regreted that I was not in conditions to write in extended way. As you can observe I followed your "advice" - would rather say orders, and was laughing loud and long about the way you put it.. I am not finding the right words to praise your album, so much is said that it is hard to say something original and never heard...with you it is every day more difficult because you became very famous and admired, which you completely deserve.I must say that still my favorite album is "little flowers of Ticino's woods" as I have downloaded all of them and the photos are rolling permanently on my screensaver. Hi Ruggero and many thanks for your compliments in my Winter in Moore River and Guilderton album. We were talking about alpine country and a couple of my albums will give you a bit of an idea. The photos were taken about 20/25 years ago as slides and the quality is not as good as our modern day digitals but they will give you a good feel for our High Country (plus a few beaches thrown in for good measure!!) If you go http://community.webshots.com/user/georgieboy98 the albums in question are on Page 5. One is called The Great Dividing Range and the other Victoria. At the time I took the piccies we were working for our living (photographers of school children) We lived in our caravan and were travelling all over Australia. AHHH! Venice without the crowd... Man! It seems that mountain-scapes are not your only reason to live! Well, I won't send you the usual and boring compliments. I know you're getting irritated with them and anyway, you know what I think about your talent! For a change, I would like to talk about software. I may be wrong but something tells me that either you've chosen a too high compression rate, either you use a ##### piece of software to compress your shots. I mean, that's a pity, you've got the ability to produce so great pictures that always amazes us, you shouldn't let a faulty algorythm damage your work. Have a good day, my friend... CIAO Ruggero! Dear Friend! Deep in my mind, I really don't want this album to be the last most beautiful album of Venice, one of my beloved most beautiful cities. I've just seen a documentary film last night revealling the continuous water pollution and flooding problems of Venice. Even though the Italian government has all the great projects of building dams and cleaning the canals all around Venice, the problems are worsening gradually. Anyway, forget the problems for a short while. Let me step in this romantic city once again. Let me refresh my memory of my happy pigeon feeding at Piazza St. Marco, the gondolas, the joyful Italian songs (truly, I've a few CD of Italian songs and music). Again, I like your vivid colours, I like your perception, I like all these spectacular scenic photos. Thank you so much again, our dearest Italian guide. Ciao Ruggero, come un cecchino, come al solito, miri dritto al cuore!!! In un connubio che non poteva essere migliore, la meravigliosa Venezia (vista attraverso lo sguardo attento da vero artista di un fotografo d’eccezione, quale tu sei) non può che catturare l’attenzione e imprigionare gli occhi e l’anima. Potrei ripetere per la milionesima volta i complimenti per la perfezione tecnica, per le inquadrature sempre originalissime, per la passione che si legge in ogni tuo scatto, oppure potrei dirti quali sono quelle che più mi hanno colpito, ma sarebbe inutile perché dovrei menzionarle tutte … ma ti dico solo che, davanti al ardito e impeccabile taglio della 19 con il suo incredibile gioco di luce/ombra/luce su tre piani differenti a dare una profondita'sbalorditiva, non ho potuto fare a meno di esclamare “…porca paletta, ma quanto è bravo!!!!!!!!!”. Ogni foto di questo favoloso e coloratissimo album meriterebbe un commento particolareggiato; intanto ti comunico alcuni pareri sulle immagini che piu' mi hanno preso dopo una prima e non approfondita visione. 017 bellissimo controluce e (mi pare) utile il flash per rischiarare in primo piano. 002, 004, 010, 012 ottime le persone e la loro collocazione ambientale, le figure umane "spiegano&qu ot; meglio queste foto. 005 grande effetto dell'apparente oscurità del cielo contro gli ipersaturi colori delle facciate. 009, 007 prospettive e spazi ottimali, ma hai aggiunto tu le nuvolette sfumate nel cielo? 014 bellissimo equilibrio di forme e linee. 019, 020, 022 inquadrature originali del Ponte dei Sospiri, anche se la 022 con la gondola "elimina&quo t; la 020 con il canale vuoto. 021, 024 sono elaborazioni ottimanente realizzate e appropriate (in questo caso le modifiche aggiungono significati alle immagini). 029 un bianco e nero eccellente e un taglio deciso che esclude la parte superiore delle colonne ma comunica ugualmente la corretta percezione spaziale. 028, 030 belle cornici per il campanile, ma forse era meglio escludere l'impalcatura a sinistra, inserendo nell'inquadratura una parte maggiore del porticato. Poi nelle pagine 4 e 5 una notevole sequenza di scorci e viste inusuali di Venezia, colte grazie alla tua attenta e paziente osservazione. Un album veneziano che completa, dopo i notturni, il tuo originale modo di interpretare questa splendida citta'. Ciao Ruggero... sono senza parole.... dopo il tuo ultimo album notturno dove hai dimostrato tecnica, sensibilità e maestria ad altisimo livello con questo hai raggiunto veramente il top... Non sono in grado ora di commentare le tue fotografie perchè per poterle realmente apprezzare occorre maggior calma, tempo ed una attenzione che possa veramente afferrare almeno in parte gli aspetti tecnici ed estetici in esse contenute. Ogni foto per me rappresenta ben più che un manuale o testo di tecnica fotografica, in ogni foto l'aspetto tecnico, la prospettiva, la ricerca "architettonica& quot;, i colori e la composizione rappresentano motivo di crescita e di studio. E' giusto quindi che un lavoro così completo e complesso ad opera di un vero maestro meriti una featured (ho dei dubbi però sulle reali "politiche&q uot; di scelta da parte dei gestori di WS...).
