  • As for being pyramided, yes they are. As careful as one can be with the diet for captive Hermanns Torts usually they get somewhat pyramided. The male was EXTREMELY pyramided before I got him as he came from a breeder who obviously fed him either too much or the wrong foods. To avoid pyramiding never feed peas or beans or other high protein items. Feed as much weedy material from outside as possible as long as it is not treated with pesticides.
