Finally caught up since I've been back from my vacation at Casa Tropical Tankah. The weather was sunny and except for 1 day of rain our 3 weeks were good ones. We had a cold spell in early Jan., but daytime temps still reached high 70's and 80 and the sun was very bright and warm. We were able to get in a lot of snorkeling and I finally got a close up photo of a barracuda which I will scan and add to my photo album. Also saw a Hawksbill turtle, but used my last shot on the barracuda. Enjoyed the usual favorite restaurants, Ill Giardino, Charlies, El Basilica in the town of Tulum. The new French restaurant, Paris de la Noche was a treat, with good prices, great onion soup and frozen drinks. The new Bital bank and ATM really comes in handy also. Had a few meals at restaurants overlooking the ocean on the Boca Paila Rd, just south of the Tulum ruins. Gringo Dave's and Zamas were good as always, and we always try to go during daylight to enjoy the beautiful views. We passed Rancho Punta Venado on our way to Tankah, and the horses looked very healthy and well taken care of. This is top on my list for things to do my next trip down. Since we will be going back again at the very end of March and early April, we will try to fit in some fishing. I know this is a good time of year. Would appreciate any tips from anyone who has hired a boat for a day of fishing offshore. Over the next week will be putting photos into my Casa Tropical photo album.
