Wow! What a beautiful and incredible collection of raptors! I have thoroughly enjoyed viewing your photos! They are great! I have a Cooper's Hawk album. They enjoy hunting in my backyard and a pair of Red Tailed Hawks have just moved into the area and we saw the male take a mourning dove from the young Cooper's Hawk. Got photos of it, but it is almost a 1/4 of a mile away. So, they look tiny. {:o( Thank you and have a great day! Darlene in Ontario, Canada http://community.webshots.com/user/littledarlings were you can see wild birds, parrots, animals, flowers, nature, etc.

A wonderful album showing some of the ambassadors to the Research Center, must be magic to volunteer at such a place and be able to see these fabulous birds up close! Wonderful photos taken and love the story of Cricket the saw whet owl! Too Cute! Very endearing! I am glad to see that this was featured a month ago and I am sorry I missed it! Many belated congrats to you on such a fine album. Have a terrific day and hope that you take more of those raptors soon! Enjoy volunteering and peace and blessings to you always, amy :)

Hi Liz, It's not surprising that this album was featured last month. It's a great collection of raptors. I'm sorry I missed it when it was first featured (I've been away for most of the last 6 months) and am only now able to catch up with my Webshots friends. The last time you wrote you asked me about the zoos in Florida - In south Florida the only zoo worth mentioning is in Miami. It offers some good tigers (if you have a long telephoto - 6X or better), great African elephants, great black rhinos and an uncommon, but very difficult clouded leopard. If you ever visit Miami (best in winter) it would be worth a day. If you’re interested in birds then try a trip to The Everglades (Shark River), but definitely not late spring through early fall. Although, the setting is ideal for morning photography the availability of birds varies. You may wish to take a look at some of my pictures. Paul in FL

Hi Liz, your photos are first class! I wonder how you manage to get the eyes of the birds so clear and pin sharp? This is so important, it makes the picture alive. Best greetings, Vera from Vienna (Austria, Europe)

Congratulations on your featured album here. You're lucky that you can volunteer in such places and we should feel luckier that you can work in such places, as it takes a special kind of person to give this kind of help to our rapters. Also appreciate you taking the time to let us see your work through a camera lens. It is hardly believeable though that you've only been taking pictures since 2003, 'cause you're quite good at it. I hope you're still enjoying your day. Ron/Oregon Coast

Hello, thanks for the comments on my wildlife album. You asked if I had ever held a Screech Owl or felt the talons of a Great Horned Owl. Actually I found a Barn Owl that was blind in one eye and had flown into our window at my business one evening. He appeared to have a concusion so I took him home and nursed him back to health. It took a couple of trips to the pet shop for mice, however he was released into the tree nursery behind our house. We saw him (or at least we think it was him) on occasion for a couple of years. Enjoy your raptors album. Thanks for sharing. Terry from Illinois
