Jim, tried to sign your website guestbook but it's not working and there's no way of contacting you to let you know. Hope you get to see this. Stephen Ives sib4897-frankston@yahoo.c o.uk Hi Jim, glad to see your website up and running again, came across it again after reading your guestbook comment on another West Kirby site. (www.rafwka.co.uk) Pleased to see you've included my Dad's passing out invitation (Walter Ives) for July 1951 when he was 18 years old. You can just about read his name in the top left hand corner of the invitation. Sadly he died in 2003 (Alzheimers) but he always talked about his 4 years in the RAF and Mum & I attended a Pembroke Dock reunion with him before he became too ill. Take Care Stephen

Hi Jim. WONDERFUL STUFF!! Boy have I enjoyed looking at these pictures. Even though they were after my time the memories came flooding back and seeing the passing out parade reminded me that our hut was just out of picture down to the left. I was there, by the way, from September/December 1948 and my abiding memories are of route marches in full kit in freezing cold and very wet, muddy conditions - and then having to parade outside with spotlessly clean boots etc almost immediately! From there I was posted to South Cerney where I had a wonderfully happy 18 months. Ah, great days and mores the pity they don't have national service now. I only have one photo from WK and that was of our intake but I DO have quite a few from South Cerney days. Glad I've found you and now I'm off to look through your other photos. Best wishes, Peter in Western Australia
