Hi Jayne Interesting to find someone else who takes pictures of pub signs, I thought that I was the only one. To date I have about 600,but find that they are vanishing very fast. I have found yours very interesting and there are many that I will have to look out for.

Hi Jayne, I have dropped by to see if you have any new signs. I just love these British pub signs. The really tell little stories. I have my house on the market. I hope to move into a retirement village, so my time will be taken up somewhat. But I will do my best to keep up with webshots. Love and best wishes, Judith.

Hi Jayne; This album was most enjoyable. Red Lion seems to be a popular theme along with Swans. I enjoyed all of them and the buldings are very beautiful. I was noticing that you have 100 pictures and I am the 100th person to leave a message here. I feel honored and truly enjoyed the visit to this outstanding album. Thanks for sharing. Hugs, Marjie

Thanks for stopping by my past years feature. The torquoise and purple sure is a favorite combination of mine too. Thanks again. I have never been to the UK. I always love the Pub signs. There is a town in Penn., created to be "British" with cobble stone roads, so quaint architecture and Pub/store signs everwhere. The are works of art as you show us! Have a great weekend. Gin the artist

Hello Jayne - first I want to thank you for your kind words in my Strasbourg/Colmar Album, it is much appreciated. I am still working my way thru your wonderful albums! This one particularly caught my attention and I even shared it with my hubby who equally enjoyed it. We had the time of our life about 3 years ago touring/sampling and photographing Pubs in Dublin and Australia. Unfortunately haven't been to England in about 8 - 9 years. Also love your 2 Kitties, hope they are doing well! Take care and thanks a bunch for sharing your wonderful photos! Marita

Hi Jayne, Thanks for your kind words at the new site. The latest addition may scare you off a bit it was taken yesterday with a webcam so it's a bit blurred. I love this album with all the beautiful old pub signs. The Queens Head is a bit 'gruesome' but thats the beauty of them isn't it. Enjoy your trip with Oz and bring us back some more lovely photos. Love and Hugs Chris

Jayne your sign collection gets better and better. After my father died many years ago, and several years later my fathers life long friend (seen in my Easter album at age 90) became my mothers traveling companion. Since he was born in Wales of course they traveled to the UK. My mother and he always visited the pubs and loved them. Our family was thrilled our mother was able to see so much of your country, she loved it there so much they returned three times. Hugs, Laura

Hi Jayne what do you do come home from school and nip out for a pint, lol. A good idea, but you could fill a whole website of them, gook luck and keep them in business for your next volume, hugs mate Ken

A Bunch of Bluebells just doesn't sound like a great place to DRINK! Sounds more like a day care. Of course, sometimes Adults need Day Care and an Ale could be just the care they need. Ha. Lorrie

Dear Jayne, I love this album as well as all your other ones. Great photos, just imagine if you had a drink in every one of the pubs you took. WOW. But yu would not take a photo of them all in one day would you? Love the album. Best wishes. Ray and Eileen.

Hello Jayne, As an old landlord This album is very enjoyable. My pub was called "The Globe" just a village off the beaten track local but We spent several years very happy there.A very novel album that deserves the credit it has gained. I also love flowers very similar to yours. Ken

Hi Jayne, I have had such a fun time looking at your new additions and downloaded several of them. I loved The Fox, The Railway Bell, The Foresters and, of course, The Old Cat. I laughed out loud when I saw The Bell. You did a WONDERFUL job on all of them!!! I added an album that I titled Raintree Plantation *Spring* and I added a few new photos in my A Walk Through My Yard. I've been practicing with my macro setting again...lol. I hope you are doing well and enjoying the glorious Spring weather! Lots of love 'n' Hugs. Donna

Hi Jayne, Congratulations on your Pub signs being featured. How does one get their albums featured? My husband and I have had 4 lovely visits to England meeting family. They have been wonderful experiences. Both our families have come from England, my fathers parents came from Bradford area as well as my husbands parents. My mother came from Cornwall which is a beautiful area. I do have an album in one of my user names and I think it might be "keighje&quo t;. My step-mothers name was Bertha Foster and she had been born in West Hartlepool, England. So your name was rather intriguing to me. Right now we have so much snow we don't thing spring will ever come. Check out my "snowstorms 2005" album under user name uptonx. Once again we loved your album and I will be checking out your others. Janet from Maine

Hi Jayne, my favorite gal, Thanks for your sweet entry in my spring album. These signs are so great! Such fun they are. Well I added another album today, I have been working on for a few months now. Guess what! There's signs in it!!..Lol The album is of Victorian homes, etc. here in SO. Oregon. Check it out and let me know what you think... I will be leaving on vacations soon so wanted to wish you a Happy Easter. I will be back the first week in April.Talk with you then my friend, Hugs, Laura

Hi Jayne, I love all of the new pub signs, but I absolutely fell in love with the crooked house. When I first saw the thumbprint photo, I thought you were standing crooked...lol. You know I have often wondered what we are doing to our mother earth by digging her guts out all of these years...this photo certainly tells the story. It's frightening in a way. My dad's house is built on top of old lead mines and I always worry about that, especially if we would have an earthquake...I think his house would fall right down into the mines. Well...I'm a worrier by nature...lol. I'm glad you stopped by to see my new Kimmswick album. I'm planning on going back over there next week, so I will check to see if that basket is there. If you like, I will pick it up and mail it to you. Which of the two did you like best??? The antique shop had a couple of old gates, so I am going over on Tuesday to pick those up. I'm going to make a headboard out of them. I'll take a photo of them for you. Have a great weekend with lots of photo opportunities. Love 'n' Hugs. Donna

Hello Jayne. Complimenti vivissimi. Claudio, Torino, Italy.

Hello Jayne Well.first of all a huge THANK YOU for signing once again one of my guestbooks.Any words of praise coming from you are wonderful to hear & so flattering since you are such a great photographer! This crooked house is totally facinating to me.Why is it crooked? Did the ground settle? I imagine it's been this way forever huh? It's quaint & I would so love to go inside.I love the different & unusual like this. Great job...as always!Bye Kathryn in Washington State
said photorose
Jayne, just to let you know, I watched a "antiques & collectables" show on daytime TV (sad I know) & what should come up but a set of pub sign cards! never heard of those before. See you have not got the "Crooked House" at Himley yet, that would fox our American friends! Eric

I big CoNgRaTuLaTiOns for this magnificent feature album of Pub Signs what fun it must have been visiting them all :\ I also glanced at a few of your other albums and your cats are awesome. Bjiou is so regal and stately with wonderful markings. Milo doesn't look like he lets to much grass grow under his body.LOL The Poppies reminded me of The Wizard of Oz, what a beautiful album. To bad they are no longer there. The english garden is remarkable in color and the abundance of plants and shrubs. Just amazing. Thank you so much for the opportunity to view these photos. Hello Jayne, now it is my turn to congratulate you with this magnificent featured album. The photos in this album are just beautiful!.It is a subject to my heart. And it is nice to see how each country has its own way in displaying these kind of signboards. If you are interested to see how other countries are doing on this subject: Padre1948 another Wsmember has several albums displaying signboards in France, Miekesphotos2 has an album on signboards in the Netherlands, and I have an album displaying signboards seen in Austria and Germany (wely246). It is a great subject and it is fun to spot these signboards, some have such funny designs. I myself am taken by the beauty of the iron work used in the German and Austrian signboards. Thanks also for your reaction on my album Tale of 2 Cities. Dinant is a beautiful city, we had a great day, that unfortunately did not end well, because the health of one of our pets did turn out to the worst. But despite that we have good memories of Belgium and we plan to spend our vacation there again this year. Another album on Leuven is almost ready to appear (evanwely). Enjoy your day. Kind regards, Els (wely246/evanwely)

Thanks a lot for your kind words regarding my Webshots album Northern Sweden. I'm not a swop person either - I just happen to live here... I’ve had a look at your photos too, and I especially like this album with all the pub signs! I've visited once before, when I nedded ideas for a medieval fantasy party I was giving in October. This time I’m going to use one of your pictures for my desktop... Merry Christmas to you - and please keep sharing your beautiful work in the future! /Gunilla in Pitea, Northern Sweden

Hi Jayne, thank you for leaving a message in my guestbook. Neuswanstein Castle is my most favorite place, the view is unforgettablly amazing, you should definetely go and see it. This album is a very interesting collection of British Pubs. I'm currently studying in Nottingham, England, but I haven't been to pubs manytimes. British pubs should be typical of British tradition and culture, so while I'm here I want to enjoy them much more. Cheers. Mitz originally from Japan

Hello Jayne, interesting album subject! There are many pubs spread out across the U.K. and so you have a wonderful plethora of choices! The art on some of them are fun, as with the names too. When we lived in the U.K. ( St. Albans and Markyate) we visited many as their food is so good and the atmosphere is warm. Markyate was such a tiny town however just on the main street we counted 6!!!!!! Too funny really. But one that would be fun to photograph as it is particular to the area is "The Wicked Lady" pub just off the A5 I think... Anyway, enough rambling about that. HAd fun looking at the album. BTW, we went to Thailand at the end of the low season just before the monsoon starts or finishes as its cheaper than and not as crowded! One year we went in Oct.-Nov. and the other was I think in May.-Jun.. anyway, anytime is just amazing as the weather is tropical and the scenery is always amazing, colourful and the food is so tasty! Definite recommendation to everyone to get there. Anyway, thanks for visiting again and take care of yourself. Have a wonderful start to the week ahead! Luv and hugs, amy :)

Hi Jayne, I love the English themes of your albums, and the quality of your shots. This album is an example of something so uniquely English, and worthy of sharing. I enjoyed it, and your Billboards album too. Much better and more clever billboards than ours. Thank you for your kind entries in my guestbook. I see you've a keen interest in things Australian. Gladys' albums are wonderful, she has the ability to capture the essence of Oz with her shutter. Pretty much as you capture the essence of England, I suspect. All the best from Keith in Sydney.

Hi Jayne, I chose to wait a day to congratulate you on your feature, nice to see another from England (mine was oct 20th)as I know you have had loads on the Castles album. But this album also interests me as my wife came from Bewdley I from the industrial heartland so this area was our mid week meeting ground, afraid to say that was in days when a pint was 1/3d in old money! Been a long time away now down on the pretty bit of East coast, working on an album of that now for after all my others are loaded. PS know Ludlow & Dudley castles well is the Theatre still there? once saw Johnny Ray there! that really dates me Eric

It is many years since I was in the UK.. livingin Australia now. My hubby was from Grantham and every pub has 'Blue' in the name I am told. He is home sick but enjoyed your photos of pubs, Hadrians wall and especially the castles. I love the flowers.. too delicate to grow here in Adelaide. Thanks for the memories.

Hi Jayne! Great little album. very english!!! Brings me back to holidays in England,Wales and Scotland. Thanks for dropping by and putting something in my guestbook. Flowers is one of my first albums and it is now so prominent on my homepage, because Webshots changed the order of my albums to "oldest first". If you love flowers go and have a look at my more recent albums ( 7.000.000 flowers etc and dahlias....) Flowers was made just after I got my first digital camera and I started having photography as a hobby... if you want me to mail you whenever I have a new album; just send a mail to anna.cor@tiscali.nl. Greetings Anna oldenhave
