Be VERY careful! I have several private albums on webshots.com and have found that WEBSHOTS has infringed on my copyright. So it ain't just individuals stealing intellectual property. Webshots does it too and then claims individual members' work as their own!

Upon research at www.copyright.gov, found out a few interesing things you might want to know. To file a case of infringement, you must have all your work registered with the copyright office, although you may fall under copyright protection, they copyright office will not accept any infringement case unless you have properly registered your work, of which each application (per work) costs $30. Additionally, any original work which is published, is subject to the mandatory deposit provision of the copyright law. (this is listed under Circular 7D of the copyright laws)Basically, this means, within three months from the time you publish any of your work on webshots(or anywhere else for that matter which can be viewed publically)you are required by law to submit 2 original copies of your work to the Library of Congress/Register of Copyrights/Attn; Deposits. Failure to comply within 3 months of public display of original material can result in a $250 fine for each work , plus the retail price of the copies. If the refusal to comply is willful or repeated, an added fine of $2,500 may be incurred. Thought you might want to know that, I would hate to see you with a bunch of failure to comply fines. To use the copyright infringement law against someone else also places certain requirements on your end as well. Reminds me of a quote, "with great power comes great responsibility". ..have a nice day.

I apologize for the oversight. I am new to webshots and did not know your images were under copyright being that you do not have a copy of your copyright agreement on you pages and they did not carry a copyright logo. I have seen multiple users with the same photos on their albums with different names. How do you know what pictures belong to who? One particular image(not necessarily one of yours) I found on 7 different user pages. I have removed the album. Again, I am new to webshots and was not trying in infringe on any ones rights. I had simply tried to group all the pictures that I liked into one album under my user name so that I could make a screensavor on my desktop at work thru webshots which would be easier to add all the pictures at once, rather than searching again thru muliple users. Again, I apologize and did not mean any ill intentions.
