I would like to know what WASP stands for. I have viewed many of the pictures and have enjoyed them all. I always tought it stood for white anglo saxon protestant. I am sure this has somethig to do with women in the Air Force or Army Air Force. Let me know. Thanks so much. Gene Cross, email WindmillsNMyMind@aol.com.

What a fantastic website. I recently visited the Air and Space Museum (Smithsonian) in Washington DC--one of the posters I brought home was of four women pilots in their flight suits, a plane in the background. I had to find out more. Now, I am hooked on learning the history of these amazing pilots. I was thrilled to find out their names thanks to this website, and will add them to my poster, which is framed and in my cube at work.

I want to commend the writers of this page on their exemplarary work in portraying a retrospective account of the most important contribution to women's rights in the military since Austin Power, International Man of Mystery. Your contributions have shed light on what was once a dark and forbidden cave in our national defense. This is truly one of the best pages I have ever read. Keep up the good work.

Great history that America should hear more about.

As my screen saver, I'd love to have the picture taken at Long Beach shortly before we were disbanded. It included all Wasp Pilots there and we were all fighter pilots at that time.
